Review Freschetta Gluten Free cheese pizza, and a note on gluten attacks.
So gluten is a sneaky pain in the you know what.
I am mid gluten attack after one Chocolate truffle.
In all fairness it was my own fault.
I let someone else read the ingredients.
I trusted they read them all.
I know better!
ALWAYS read the labels.
Don’t be stupid like me.
I am grateful for my gluten reactions.
I am Lucky!
It is pretty simple.
I know what they are, what causes them and how to prevent them!
Some people are not as lucky. They have a gluten reactions that are either hard to tie to celic or easy to write off as something else.
That means that gluten is still doing the damage but they don’t know it!
They don’t always know when they have been glutened.
It also means they are much harder to diagnose.
That is why I am grateful for my reaction.
I no longer have a ton of symptoms I can’t explain.
I don’t need to take tons of digestive aids and pain meds to keep from curling up in pain each night.
I can eat, and enjoy food again.
So yes I am grateful.
Speaking enjoying food.
I tried the Freschetta Gluten free pizza, and I was actually surprised!
It is better than most gluten free pizza I have had, and for that matter better than most normal frozen pizzas too.
I even have kids who don’t need to eat gluten free who prefer these over their normal frozen pizza.
(Don’t start in on the frozen pizza thing I know I can make it better but when you get as sick I bet you sometimes rely on frozen foods too.)
The Freschetta crust is really crispy, it has just the right amount of cheese vs sauce, the cheese is a bit boring, it wouldn’t hurt to add some garlic and herbs to bump up the flavor.
Over all it reminds me of the flat bread pizza from Bj’s restaurant.
I give it a solid 7 out of 10 hearts.
Yes I use Zelda hearts, because I am a geek.
I don’t work for Freschetta, no one I know does either. In fact they don’t even know I am doing a review and might sue me. They won’t get anything because I am broke hehe.
