Easy Gluten free Bisquick Waffles (and a review) with dairy free options and a gluten free Bisquick review.
I have a confession to make, I didn’t use Bisquick much before I went Gluten free.
I did however like to play with their cheeseburger pie recipe.
I got gluten free Bisquick for that reason, since then I have tried their pancake and biscuit recipes.
Not so good..
However the waffle recipe that is pretty awesome.
They are light, crisp, great flavor, and reheat well!
They easily convert to dairy free.
Since they are not sweet on their own they make excellent replacements for sandwich bread.
I often have Tuna or peanut butter on them.
You can also make an awesome afternoon snack for kids with a tablespoon of peanut butter (I like crunchy) a teaspoon of honey mixed together and spread on top as an after school treat!
They can even be topped with ice cream, whipped cream, nuts, and Nutella sauce for an awesome desert.
Any way you eat them they are pretty wonderful.
Best of all the freeze very well and you can pop them in the toaster and have fresh hot waffles in a couple minutes.
On with the recipe!
Gluten free Bisquick Waffles (and a review) with dairy free options
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 60 Minutes (depending on waffle maker)
Total Time: 65 Minutes
Serves: 8 (2 per person)
1 (16 oz) Box of Gluten Free Bisquick mix
3 cups of milk (can be non dairy)
6 tablespoons melted butter or oil
4 large eggs
1 large bowl 3 quart or larger
Put everything into the bowl and whisk until combined.
Pour into hot waffle maker; I find a soup ladle is just the right size for maker.
Remove from the waffle maker top and serve. They will be crispy when hot; as they cool they get soft.
If you don’t want to serve them right away place them with paper towels between in a zip top bag and freeze them.
You can double this recipe and make a bunch and freeze them for quick breakfasts on week days.
